Thai Youth Delegation Dedicated to State Governance Visits GXU for Exchange

On October 22, a Thai youth delegation dedicated to state governance, led by Mrs. Daonoi Suttiniphapunt, a member of the King Prajadhipok's Institute Committee and former Senator of Thailand, visited Guangxi University (GXU) for an exchange. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Yuan Ruidong, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. Mr. Li Guozhong, Secretary of Party Committee of GXU,met with the head of the delegation. Mr. Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of GXU, attended the meeting and presided over the symposium.

Li Guozhong extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that Guangxi University has long been committed to deepening educational and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand, having established solid cooperative foundations with multiple Thai universities. This visit, he said, creates a valuable platform for dialogue. The University hopes to use this opportunity to further deepen cooperation with Thai institutions in areas such as joint talent cultivation, academic and scientific research collaboration, and sharing experiences in governance and political affairs. He also sincerely welcomed Thai youth to learn the Chinese language and culture, and to choose GXU or other Chinese universities for further studies and exchanges, jointly writing new chapters of China-Thailand friendship.

Mrs. Daonoi Suttiniphapunt expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from GXU and briefly introduced the delegation. She stated that the visit aims to observe and learn from China's successful experiences in areas such as top-level decision-making and deployment, constructing talent cultivation systems, and shaping youth moral education. She remarked that GXU boasts a profound history, high-quality faculty and students, and strong development potential. The delegation hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the University's distinctive features and, through on-site visits and exchanges, gain a comprehensive perception of China's development achievements, thereby promoting exchange and cooperation between Thai and Chinese youth.

The symposium was held in the Second Meeting Room of Junwu Hall. Xiao Jianzhuang detailed the University's distinctive characteristics, achievements in international exchanges, and its programs for international students in China. He expressed hope that this exchange would promote deeper and more substantive interactions between Chinese and Thai youth, and looked forward to members of the Thai youth delegation choosing to study at GXU in the future, becoming citizen ambassadors for China-Thailand friendly exchanges. Counsellor Yuan Ruidong thanked GXU for the thoughtful arrangements and spoke highly of the University's achievements in scientific research and innovation, talent cultivation, serving local development, and educating students from ASEAN countries. He expressed hope that this visit would enhance the Thai youth's understanding of China's national conditions and its universities, helping to achieve new progress in joint talent training, friendly exchanges between teachers and students, and people-to-people bonds.

The meeting was also attended by delegation coordinators Tidalak Thanapakpawin and Athichat Kuharangrong, coordinator assistant Titima Thanapakpawin, and relevant responsible officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department. Responsible officials from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, as well as from the GXU School of Marxism and School of Economics, participated in the exchange and discussion.

Reportedly, the members of the Thai youth delegation dedicated to state governance are composed of young student representatives from renowned universities across various regions of Thailand, including Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Thammasat University, Chiang Mai University, and Srinakharinwirot University. The delegation's core mission is self-capacity enhancement, cultivating youth who possess both moral integrity and professional competence, and who are dedicated to contributing to Thailand's national development and the well-being of its people. Recently, the 53-member delegation visited China, with GXU serving as one of the host institutions responsible for their itinerary in Guangxi. During their stay in Guangxi, in addition to visiting GXU and its University History Museum, the delegation will also inspect the China-ASEAN AI Application Cooperation Center, Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning Intangible Cultural Heritage Pottery Gallery. They will also conduct field investigations in Qinzhou and Liuzhou. Through these multi-dimensional and multi-scenario inspections, the delegation aims to gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Guangxi's socio-economic development practices and the achievements of Chinese modernization.
