On October 23, Guangxi University (GXU) was invited to attend the 8th Kunming Forum on South and Southeast Asia Education Cooperation and the 4th South and Southeast Asian University Presidents' Forum. Zhao Shuangliang, Vice President of GXU, was invited to participate and delivered a thematic report titled "Thoroughly Implementing the 'AI Plus' Initiative: GXU's Practices in Promoting AI-Empowered Higher Education Teaching and Learning."

Zhao Shuangliang briefly introduced the university's history, development, and current status, sharing his insights on how artificial intelligence empowers the high-quality development of higher education. He pointed out that AI is triggering profound transformations in multiple aspects of higher education, including the supply side, teaching methodologies, educational ecology, and research paradigms. However, these transformations also present new opportunities and challenges. He highlighted that educational equity is entering a new phase of "technological rebalancing," teaching models are shifting towards "personalization," the focus of student competency cultivation is turning to "uniquely human capabilities," and the academic ecosystem faces the impact of "AI disruption." Subsequently, He elaborated on GXU's explorations and achievements in building a digital-intelligent educational environment, advancing institution-wide data governance, optimizing the "AI Plus" academic program structure, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and enhancing faculty digital literacy. He sincerely invited educators from participating countries to visit GXU for exchanges, jointly exploring new pathways for higher education cooperation in the era of artificial intelligence.
